In this Admit U Consulting review, I’ll share my perspective as an experienced professional in college admissions consulting. This post will go into the details of what they provide, their price, and areas for development, allowing prospective students and parents to decide whether Admit U is the best fit for them.
Pros & Cons
Although Admit U provides various services to help students through the admissions process, it falls short in some important areas.
🟢 PROS | 🔴 CONS |
---|---|
Their services span the entire admissions process, from reviewing academic performance and extracurriculars to helping with essays, applications, and interviews. | Admit U Consulting clearly states that they do not guarantee admission to any specific college, which may be a downside for families seeking certainty in results. |
Admit U Consulting offers specialized support for athletes, performing artists, and students with learning differences. | Most of their expertise is around U.S. college admissions, so students applying abroad might find support more limited. |
The team consists of counselors with extensive backgrounds in education and advanced certifications. | Like most full-service admissions consultancies, their services are premium and may not be affordable for all families. |
Admit U Consulting provides a range of standard services but lacks the high-level customization, strategic insight, and transparency needed to be one of the best college admission consultants. Families expecting cutting-edge strategies or a highly individualized approach from Admit U may feel underwhelmed.
And while their staff may be friendly and knowledgeable about general counseling, I would recommend other firms with more profound expertise and a more personalized touch over AdmitU.
With that in mind, let me break down what Admit U actually offers and how their services are structured.
What Are The Main Admission Consulting Services of Admit U?

Since 2003, Admit U Consulting has provided many services related to college admissions:
✔️ College counseling – school selection, application strategy, timelines, decision-making.
✔️ Standardized test prep – help with SAT, ACT, or other admissions tests as part of their offerings.
✔️ Subject tutoring – AdmitU offers tutoring in academic subjects to strengthen a student’s profile.
✔️ Essay coaching and application writing – they help students develop personal statements, supplemental essays, and craft narratives that make the application stand out.
Experts at Admit U also say they offer all-around help, which includes things like preparing resumes and practicing interviews, which sounds like a lot of help. I think this is pretty normal in the world of admissions advice, though, and it doesn’t make them stand out.
I know many other companies that offer the same services, and sometimes, they handle them better and with more care. BeMo Consulting is a good example.
What’s Included in Those Packages?
The packages include a “start-to-finish” service that promises to guide students through college admissions. Based on the information available at AdmitUConsulting.com, a typical engagement includes:
- Review of transcripts, course selection, extracurriculars, and summer planning.
- A curated college list built around academic, social, and personal fit.
- Essay help (brainstorming, drafting, and editing) plus oversight of all app components and timelines.
- Activity list and resume polish, organization tools, and targeted communication with colleges.
- Mock interviews and help in comparing final offers.
- Guidance on scholarship opportunities.
- Specialized support for athletes, performing artists, and students with learning differences.
AdmitUConsulting.com appears to focus on essay editing and creating a balanced college list. From what I’ve observed in general practice, many competitors provide this same level of service.
Still, some also offer additional insights into unique application strategies that can give students a natural edge, something Admit U doesn’t seem to highlight as a priority.
They also help with time management and task completion, which is helpful but, again, quite basic for the field. 🤷
Who Is on Their Team (Are They Knowledgeable Enough)?

In my opinion, the Admit U team’s profile looks solid. They highlight many credentials and memberships in groups like IECA, HECA, NACAC, and even the CEP certification. From what I know, those affiliations show a level of training, ethics, and professional development.
Still, letters after a name don’t guarantee a good match. What really matters is whether the counselor connects with your student and feels their voice.
Also, they have many counselors with high school experience and advanced degrees. That looks great on a website. While this is promising, I’d question whether these qualifications alone are enough for genuinely elite-level consulting.
Does Admit U Consulting Offer Any Extra Services?
Yes, AdmitUConsulting also provides some extras:
- One-off essay editing (two edits of a 650-word personal statement).
- Standardized test prep, with diagnostics.
- Academic tutoring across subjects.
- Athlete Advantage program (recruiting profiles, NCAA steps, coach outreach).
- Performing Artists service (pre-screens, song and monologue work, portfolio help).
While the last two options sound inclusive, it’s not uncommon for consultants to offer specialized services for various types of students. I think these “extra services” don’t seem significantly more advanced than what you’d get from other firms that specialize in these student populations.
Does Admit U Have Any Free Services?
Admit U Consulting offers some free options. They have a Resources page with no-cost tools and guides (for example, virtual campus tours and BigFuture checklists).
They also have a blog, but compared to what’s out there, it feels more like a marketing add-on than a real hub of guidance. For a company that’s been around since 2003, that’s a missed opportunity.
In addition, on Facebook, Admit U Consulting has promoted free college admissions webinars (at least one in May 2025). However, these appear to be occasional rather than part of a fixed monthly series.
From general practice, I know that PrincetonReview.com offers more free webinars and other valuable resources without requiring a financial commitment.
Admit U Consulting Pricing and Guarantees
Everything I could find on the Admit U Consulting is a one-off personal statement edit: $400 for two edits of a 650-word essay with a 3–5 day turnaround.
Supplements and extra rounds cost more. Package pricing for comprehensive counseling, athlete support, arts coaching, test prep, or tutoring isn’t listed, so it appears to be custom. This is, of course, not unprecedented, but you’d still want some ballpark specifics.
As I know from the field, if a company isn’t transparent, it usually means the packages are expensive. 🤑
Now, to the guarantees: reputable firms don’t promise admits, and Admit U states that clearly. In my opinion, that’s the right ethical line.
They also don’t publish acceptance-rate guarantees or flashy “95% got into Ivies” claims. So if you’re looking for hard outcome metrics, you won’t find them here.
Their Professionalism in Terms of Admit U Consulting Reviews
On their own site, Admit U Consulting publishes many glowing testimonials. However, there have been no updates since 2023, which seems suspicious.

And since these evaluations are self-hosted, there is no way to confirm their authenticity, so take that with a grain of salt.
Outside of their own platform, I also checked Alignable. There, Admit U is listed as “Highly Recommended” by several local businesses.

Still, Alignable recommendations read more like peer endorsements than detailed parent or student feedback, so I wouldn’t consider them as strong as verified reviews.
Even more problematic is that we couldn’t find any Admit U Consulting reviews on Trustpilot or Reddit. They do maintain an active presence on Facebook, posting updates and sharing awards, but there is no feedback from students or parents. This lack of openness may put off customers.
Areas of AdmitUConsulting.com That They Should Work On
Even though Admit U has been in the admissions space for a long time, there are several areas where they fall short.
1. Customization
As mentioned, the AdmitU Consulting services don’t seem as customized as those of other firms. Parents and students should feel they’re receiving truly individualized advice, but this doesn’t always seem to happen.
2. International Admissions
They appear to have a U.S.-centric focus. A little visible support for international admissions is a big deal for many ambitious students.
3. Transparency in Pricing
Their pricing isn’t available, and you don’t know what to expect before contacting them.
In my opinion, families need a clear menu, especially for multi-essay bundles, rush options, and interview coaching. Right now, it’s hard to forecast the true total.
4. Free Resources
Admit U could benefit from offering more free tools or webinars that provide value to a wider audience, which is something many other consulting firms do.
5. Result-Oriented Services
There is no accountability for outcomes beyond the usual disclaimers about not guaranteeing admissions. Many top-tier firms at least offer satisfaction guarantees or more measurable outcomes.
Verdict
So, Admit U Consulting has a long history, and its counselors have a lot of experience. But in my opinion, you’re paying premium prices for a service that can sometimes feel standard.
Of course, if you want someone else to keep you organized, AdmitUConsulting will probably deliver. But if you’re looking for cutting-edge strategies, honest pricing, or truly next-level essay coaching, you may want to shop around.
